Executive Director
Jennifer Wagner
Jennifer Wagner comes from a background in investment banking and management strategy in the food and agriculture sectors. She later built successful businesses of her own in health and nutrition before deciding to apply her knowledge to the non-profit sector.
Drawing upon insights from working with the global industrial food complex, she became charged about the issues of harmful food ingredients, soil contamination and polluting of natural waterways on a global scale. She formed an intelligence network across nutrition and science that advocates for freedom of information and disclosure of health and environmental dangers posed by various processes, practices and products.
After discovering the many challenges within nonprofits she had contact with, she began consulting for nonprofit organizations to help boards become more productive decision makers and empower them to create solid governance.
She joins SpanAfrica with excitement to bring more success to the region and have the opportunity to participate in valuable international development work that was started by the founder Rebecca Coelius. “With the combined thought leadership of our board and a ‘design thinking project’ approach, I have no doubt that our efforts will bring powerful change to fruition.”
